PRE-DELVERA
The Army of the Commonwealth of Lavrasia (ACL) was founded in July 2011 as a branch of the NottaLottan Armed Forces (NLAF), the military of the new NottaLottan Empire. In less than two years, it held four training exercises and grew from five to upwards of thirty personnel. During this time, the military was the primary source of Lavrasian (and NottaLottan) activity and growth. All four branches of what would later become the Grand Republican Army of Delvera were founded, the immediate predecessors to the Delveran Military Regulations were enacted, and the Protectorate was created during this period.
The ACL and its later overarching organization, the Armies of the Moniteau, played a key role in Lavrasia's secession from the NLE in early 2013. Most of the military leaders in Lavrasia and its affiliate territories supported secession, and the documents for the move were signed at the Spring Drill Exercises on May 29, 2013.

IN THE GRAND REPUBLIC
The military continued to be an important aspect of culture and avenue for activity in the early days of the Grand Republic, and would not be challenged by any other significant project until 2015. Many aspects of the military, from organizational structure to uniforms, maintained great similarity to their Commonwealth predecessors. With First Consul Brizendine's push for greater legitimacy and diversity in activities in early 2015, the military lost dominance, but retained an important role in the Grand Republic.
